Mizuno MP 59 Irons Improve Forgiveness

Few days ago, I show you the Mizuno hot superstar MP-69 Irons. As we know, Mizuno released their MP-69 and his brother MP-59 Irons at the same time. In the MP-59 Mizuno engineer created a more familiar, softer Mizuno feel by the way we've shaped and bonded the Titanium insert to the steel casing. It's a solid looking iron now with a less 'clicky' feel and beautiful looks. How we know Mizuno MP-59 Irons in details on today?

A "full cavity forgiveness in a player's half cavity design" as their site informs us. The Mizuno MP-59 Iron features a lightweight Titanium insert forged directly into the back of the clubhead. With weight saved from the middle portion of the clubhead, the MP-59 takes the characteristics of a full cavity design, with stability from off centre strikes. The thicker Ti Muscle material behind impact ensures that the centre of gravity is located closer to the clubface, which allows better players the ability to work shots whilst still offering the forgiveness of the cavity-back design. Mizuno claims the thicker material behind impact also ensures that accurate strikes are rewarded with a solid impact. With the centre of gravity close to the clubface ball strikers can produce controlled draws and fades. The sole is a little wider than before and you might expect this to launch the ball quite high, but we found that was not the case.

The Mizuno MP-59 is an evolution of the successful MP-58 model. Cheap golf club sets the Ti weight added to the MP-59, off-center strikes will benefit from even greater stability. The appearance is also improved by reducing the offset as a result of this improved stability. Thanks to the help of Mizuno's Tour Staff, the MP-59 iron now features a thinner top-line, a weightier sole and a new sole grind. A thinner top line and weightier sole is complemented with a new sole grind developed by Mizuno's Tour players available in any custom combination from 3-PW (£120 per iron) with MP Fli-Hi (2, 3, 4) available as long iron replacements.

Mizuno MP-59 Irons Main Features:
>Forged Ti Muscle technology delivers increased forgiveness and solid feel in a player's head shape.

>Scientifically designed to optimize sound and feel at impact utilizing Modal Analysis and Harmonic Impact Technology.

>Patented Grain Flow Forged 1025E "Pure Select" mild carbon steel and Pure Titanium combine to provide the ultimate soft, solid, and consistent feel.

>Tour confirmed sole and overall compact head shape allows for face manipulation to deliver more control.

>Modified U-grooves, which conform to the Condition of Competition, produce the ideal spin rate for maximum play-ability in all conditions.

Callaway Diablo Octane Driver to Maximize Performance

This morning, I got up so early. I'm afraid of the traffic jam, but it's happened to me. We got stuck in a traffic jam on the highway about half an hour. It's too late to work, when I got off the bus, I just run faster than before, and arrived the company about 4minutes. The most important is that I'm lack of exercise. I need more exercise.

Last week, I meant to go running, but I overslept. So I decide to play games outside with friends on this weekend. He is a professional golf, I can learn to the skill from him. He suggests the cheap golf club sets to choose the golf that suit for me. The health condition of persons with high professional title in city is not very good. It is urgent to release stress of work and life, improve diet structure, and strengthen exercises and health care.

I spot Callaway Diablo Octane Driver at once among the golf. It is both good and cheap, has beautiful performance, red head and black body. I love it very much. Lighter, faster, stronger. It's what makes the all-new Diablo Octane Driver a revolution. Fueled by Forged Composite, a unique new material from Callaway that allows superior distribution of clubhead mass, compared with all-titanium drivers. As a result the Callaway Diablo Octane Driver has a lighter clubhead that retains an extremely high moment of inertia (MOI). The lighter weight also allows for a longer shaft that generates faster clubhead and ball speeds--adding up to an average of 8 extra yards off the tee compared to the Diablo Edge Driver.

In addition, Hyperbolic Face Technology improves impact efficiency across the entire clubface, producing a larger sweet spot that generates higher ball speeds even on mishits. Equipped with the Project X Graphite Shaft that maximizes the driver's performance and provides enhanced feel, the Diablo Octane Driver is the new force to be reckoned with on the course. The Diablo Octane Driver powers drives beyond those of its all-titanium predecessor, the Diablo Edge Driver, by an average distance of 8 extra yards. Experience the most powerful driver ever imagined – the Diablo Octane Driver with Forged Composite.

Callaway Diablo Octane Driver Main Features:
> Lighter, faster, stronger Diablo Octane Driver delivers more power and distance on the course
> New Forged Composite construction adds 8-Yards to your drive compared to titanium drivers
> Hyperbolic face technology improves impact efficiency and produces a larger sweet spot
> Project X graphite shaft maximizes the Diablo Octane performance and provides enhanced feel
> 2 Year warranty to be free of defects in material and workmanship
I wish I can play golf like my friend, be a professional golfer. And, the most important, keep health.

Mizuno MX-1000 Hot Metal Irons

During the 2009 to 2010, Mizuno has launched several of golf. The Mizuno MX-1000 Irons are just one of eight different sets of irons in Mizuno's and appeal to the improver golfer looking for forgiveness, high launch and added distance. The other Irons are the hot golf in 2009. Mizuno complements the new MP-Series irons with their MX line of game improvement irons, giving players of all skill level options for experiencing the "feel".

The MX series has historically been Mizuno's line of game improvement irons for a while, and though the new Mizuno MX-1000 Irons may fall squarely in that category, the MX-300 is meant to bleed the edge between game-improvement iron and player's iron. With so many different options to choose from, there's a Mizuno iron made for every type of player out there. The Mizuno MX-1000s with big distance gains are achieved by plasma wielding the thin, hot maraging steel face to a stainless steel hollow body. It allows weight to be placed deep within the head to deliver a naturally high trajectory and enables the use of stronger lofts for even greater distance. They look beefy at address, similar to a set of Fli-Hi hybrids and share the same hollow construction. Sole width is 23.5mm and the topline 8.6mm, compared respectively to the 20.1mm and 6.4mm found in the MX200s.

The Mizuno MX-1000 Irons were developed with a super high COR and a massive MOI for amazing distance and forgiveness. MOI is optimized by the use of Hollow Technology, which allows the internal weighting to be pushed away from center, allowing the player to get away with less than perfect contact. The Hollow Technology also allows for the center of gravity to be pushed low and deep, making it easier to launch the ball high and straight. The Hot Metal construction of the MX-1000 is created by plasma welding a thin, hot, ES230 maraging steel face to a high tech stainless steel body. This exotic construction delivers COR numbers that reach the legal limit, which results in incredible distance for your iron shots. Moreover, Hollow Technology construction with internal extreme MOI weighting creates a super low and deep COG, which delivers an easy, high and straight ball flight.

We'll see that this may qualify as one of Mizuno's less subdued irons, in terms of appearance. We'll see that the grey channel in the cavity is textured with tiny Mizuno logos, and the rest of the cavity deviates from the normal blue/yellow combination in favor of black and grey. Cheap golf club sets the topline of the MX-1000 may be a little thicker than the rest of Mizuno's irons, it certainly doesn't look to be distractingly thick at all, and should set up quite nicely.

Ping iWi Series CRAZ-E Putter Have High MOI

In the golf equipment, Ping shares the most parts nearly. No matter the driver, irons, fairway wood or hybrid, even the putter. Each one is designed to be custom—fit your individual putting stroke. PING provides cheap golf club sets, putters featuring improved forgiveness, feel, and alignment options. So whether you prefer the feel of an insert putter, the feedback of a steel faced putter, or the precision of a 100% milled putter, PING has the technology you are looking for.

Ping iWi Series CRAZ-E Putter is a member of the latest generation of putters from Ping that are designed to complement the popular I-Series and Karsten Series putter lines. It is a face balanced mallet putter constructed of cast 17-4 stainless steel body, with a head weight of 370 grams. While putting with the putter, you will notice its soft and comfortable feel when striking the ball. This is due to the two piece insert that is constructed of stainless steel with an elastometer backing. The Ping iWi Series CRAZ-E Putter includes two 12 gram weights. The optional weights that are sold separately consist of two 20 gram and two 28 gram weights made of tungsten. With all the weights, there is a total of nine possible combinations' you can play with.

The iWi Craz-E Putter also features a two-piece stainless steel face insert with an elastomeric backing, which according to Ping "provide steel-face performance and response with a softer feel." Go ahead and add weights to the heel or toe of the putter and experiment until the putter head is the weight and feel you desire. The feel of the Ping iWi Craz-E putter was surprisingly soft and very responsive. The iWi Series of putters have high MOI, because the weights are located on the heel and toe the putter, by being to adjust the weight distribution you can change the feel of putter. The Putter also allows for ease of alignment. One white line and two yellow lines are the aids in this alignment system. This putter will bring you more confidence, hence you will be sinking more putts.

When I first to use Ping iWi Series CRAZ-E Putter, I immediately noticed how easy it was to line up the putt with the raised Optgraphic alignment system. a choice of steel or tungsten sole weights designers have ensured that the putter will deliver optimum performance. This is one that I need and want.

Callaway RAZR Hawk Fairway Wood Win with Power & Precision

As usual, when the Callaway's new product released, the professionals will play the golf equipment at first time. On the PGA Tour, the LPGA Tour, the PGA European Tour, the Nationwide Tour and the game's biggest stages, Callaway has been committed to developing the world's most advanced golf technology to help every golfer play like a winner – including the best players in the world.

If you're all about distance, Callaway has the Diablo Octane driver. But if you like to draw the ball around a corner or fade it into the short grass, the company now offers the RAZR Hawk , the RAZR Hawk is made with Forged Composite, a super-lightweight material Callaway developed in conjunction with Lamborghini. Callaway RAZR Hawk Fairway Wood and Callaway RAZR Hawk Driver compose the RAZR Hawk lines.

Like the drivers in the new line, the Callaway RAZR Hawk fairway woods also use the Forged Composite material in the crown, saving weight and allowing center-of-gravity adjustments through the repositioning of that saved weight around the clubhead. Combined with Variable Face Technology, Callaway says, the result is that Callaway RAZR Hawk Fairway Wood can make high ball speeds and improved accuracy. RAZR Hawk Fairway Wood is available in cheap golf club sets.

The Callaway RAZR Hawk Fairway Wood is uncompromised performance. The addition of Forged Composite in the crown allows the new Callaway RAZR Hawk Fairway Woods to perform like no other that Callaway has ever made. This revolutionary new material is used in the crown and is lighter and stronger than titanium. This allows Callaway's engineers to precisely control thickness like never, resulting in a club head that is lighter but still has an extremely high MOI.

Features:
•Aggressive VFT Technology: precision shaping of the face thickness in each club increases the size of the sweet spot and generates hotter ball speeds for longer distance
•Tour-Inspired Styling: each club has a stainless steel face and sole in a traditional shape with a full length hosel which appeals to a broad range of players
•Body and Face Construction: steel
•Crown Construction: composite
•Grip: Callaway Rubber Composition
•Shaft: RAZR Hawk Graphite

Callaway RAZR Hawk Fairway Wood is the first uncompromised fairway woods that Callaway has delivered. Adding Forged Composite to the crown of new RAZR Hawk Fairway Woods allows for a Center of Gravity placement that maximizes distance without compromising ball flight or feel.

Golf Flexibility Exercise For Lower Back

A golf flexibility exercise that can release the tension in your lower back can be the silver bullet you’ve been looking for to improve your golf swing and finally get rid of that nagging back pain!
In fact there is no single genuine golf exercise program that does not include flexibility exercises. That is how critical flexibility training for golf is.
Flexibility programs for golf are becoming very popular, but there are many that do not effectively improve golfers’ golf swing and performance. There is a reason this occurs. If flexibility exercises are not are not specific to the golf swing and its physical requirements, they will not be effective in improving golf swing flexibility and range of motion.
There are many types of flexibility exercises for golf. Some of them can comfortably be done in the office while you are still seated on your chair in your workstation. And probably when you have a few minutes to spare or you need to spend a moment or two thinking about something, maybe a decision you have to make. You can easily do your thinking as you execute the simple golf flexibility exercise.
One of the exercises that can be done in this situation is twisting your upper body to reach and touch as far back on one side of the chair as you can. I do this one in my office when I want to take a break from the grind of running my golf training website and shipping products.
Instructions:
Sit upright in your office chair, with chest high and back straight.
Reach behind you with one arm, which will rotate your upper body.
While staying very erect, twist as far as you can go and hold.
Twist the other way and repeat.
Go both sides 2-3 times, holding for 10 seconds.
Benefits to the golf swing:
Increase rotation of trunk for an improve “x-factor”.
Loosen up lower back, to reduce strain and tightness, freeing up golf swing.
Improve ability to rotate upper body over a “fixed” lower body, like in your swing.
This golf flexibility exercise should be repeated reaching out for the other side of your chair.
There are also golf flexibility exercise that can be done with tubing, and a stability ball. Others are done using a medicine ball. Most of them are described in other golf exercise articles I have written on my site.
The reason why a flexibility exercise program for golf is so effective in improving the golf swing and eliminating back pain is because they put your body in the exact same positions either rotationally or from a golf posture standpoint that stretch the muscles like no other stretch or general exercise program could do.
This will remove the tension in your swing due to restricted muscles, and enable your golf swing to feel more comfortable and free-flowing, allowing maximum clubhead speed and ultimately distance. The results will be quick and dramatic!
There are dozens and dozens of effective golf flexibility exercise for golf that will have a profound impact on your golf swing, game and body. There is no denying golf is a physical game, and you need to work on your “machine” to maximize your results.

Learn How To Play With Golf Lessons

So you’ve hit a few balls and you are thinking of taking up golf. Or maybe you’ve been playing for years and you would like to find a way to improve. Whether you are a seasoned Tour pro, a raw beginner, or anyone in between, at some point you will likely wonder if you should invest in some golf lessons.
Golf is a complex game where so many elements of the golf swing are interconnected. One minute aspect of your swing can impact the results dramatically. Because we can not see ourselves in action, we have to rely on others to view our swings and give us feedback, yet so many of us are willing to entrust that responsibility to our friends and playing partners, most of whom are completely unqualified to offer such advice. Instead of professional feedback that we would receive during golf lessons, we are told the famous golf axioms; “keep your head still,” “keep your arm straight,” so on, and so forth.
Golf lessons from a qualified professional are likely to help any golfer improve on their game. There are different kinds of golf lessons that are sure to fit any golfers schedule, budget, or needs. Beginners might opt for group golf lessons at a local golf course. Group golf lessons are less expensive and focus on the most basic fundamentals of the golf swing, such as grip, stance, and posture. More advanced golfers are likely to benefit more from a one-on-one golf lesson with the professional .Their trained eye can not only help diagnose any problems you have with your swing, but they can also supply you with specific practice drills that you can work on after your golf lesson.
Today’s golf lessons are often more than just a teacher watching a pupil hit golf balls. Modern video equipment, and computer programs designed specifically for analyzing the golf swing, can be used to examine your swing in super slow motion so that the smallest faults can be identified and resolved.
Another advantage to golf lessons is that the professional can analyze the clubs you are using and help you decide if they are proper for your game. With the hundreds of brands of golf clubs on the market it is hard to know if your equipment is ideal for your game. Today’s professional has the resources to analyze your game from top to bottom during your golf lesson, your clubs included. That kind of expertise and feedback will make golf lessons beneficial for anyone, no matter what their ability.

Free Golf Tips – Beware of Bad Advice

If you have decided to take up golf, you are probably in search of free golf tips. Good news! You’ve found them! These free golf tips are designed with every golfer in mind, and they are beneficial to anyone who reads them.
The first tip is to beware of tips! That’s right. Many well meaning golfers will offer you a great deal of advice. What many people fail to realize is that what works for one golfer probably won’t work for others. These tips, however, are for all golfers.
Enjoy the game. Getting mad isn’t much fun. If you aren’t enjoying the game, you need to find out why, and fix the problem. Getting upset over bad swings or problem areas won’t fix anything, and it will only serve to take all of the fun out of the game. This is a game that tests your skill and technique – but it is still a game, and games are meant to be enjoyed!
Be a great sport – even if you aren’t great at golf. Be respectful to the other players. Be still and quiet when they are taking their shots. Don’t criticize or make fun of the way they stand, shoot, or grip the club….no matter how good you think your own game is. Good sportsmanship is everything, and without it, you won’t have any golfing companions in a very short period of time.
Golf responsibly. Do not litter the course. If the grass is loosened and turned when you shoot, use your foot to replace it. Wait your turn if you come upon a group at the next tee – don’t rush them. Use caution when driving golf carts, and use caution again when you take your shots to avoid hitting houses, buildings, animals, or other golfers. Leave the course better than you found it.
When you practice, practice at the hardest holes on the course…don’t take the easy way out, practicing only on the easy holes, thinking you are making headway – you aren’t. Practice on the hardest tees, and the hardest putts. Put yourself in the traps, and practice getting out of them. Imagine worst case scenarios and set them up. This is what will make you a better golfer.
Play miniature golf, and take it more seriously – but still have fun. Playing miniature golf is a great way to improve your putting skills. Many seasoned golfers laugh at this suggestion – but its true! Good miniature golf courses provide really challenging obstacles that you must put through, under, around and over….some even offer more challenges than you will ever find on your local golf course greens!
Keep your eyes open for used training aids. If they are reasonably priced – buy them! Not all training aids will help you, but unfortunately, you won’t know which ones will unless you try them out first. Get together with golfing friends and go in together to buy golfing aids that you can share. The aids that are available on the market today will help you improve your game a great deal, in a short amount of time.
Read a lot – and play even more. There are lots of techniques that you can learn from golfing websites, golf books, and golf magazines – but you will learn them faster out on the course! Read it once, and then go try it. If you need to, print it out and carry it with you – but go put the theory into practice – and practice, practice, practice! You can learn the concept sitting in your living room, but you will never make that concept work for you if you don’t take it out onto the course with you!
If you can’t get on the course, and you have some spare time and enough room, practice your swing. You don’t need a ball for this. Consider using a training club during these times to help build strength as well. If you take the time to practice your swing several times a day, you will find that you have a perfect swing for you in short order! If your golf game gets rained out – use the time to practice your swing, or practice your putting indoors…but don’t let that time go to waste! The best free golf tips you will ever receive will all include the word ‘practice!’

Improve Your Golf Swing The Easy Way

Most golfers aren’t aware of the fact that eighty percent of the world’s golfers have a handicap of 18 or more. Finding ways to improve your golf game, then applying what you’ve learned and practicing diligently, is the best way to get ahead of the game. Did you know the average golfer’s gross score is 107 shots?
Don’t worry about what others think or may say about your swing; work to improve it at your own speed. A common mental error golfers make when driving the ball is to hit it as hard as possible. Approach the game with a positive attitude and repeat affirmations if you can, such as “I play great golf all the time.”
It’s difficult for a golfer to practice hitting shots longer than short pitch shots unless one pays to play golf or pays to practice at a driving range or indoor golf training facility. Putts and short chips are ideally played without much movement of the body, but most other golf shots are played using variants of the full golf swing. Sidespin occurs when the clubface is not aligned perpendicularly to the plane of swing.
Trust your golf club to do the job it was intended to do. At the end of a swing, the weight has shifted almost entirely to the left foot, the body is fully turned to the left and the hands are above the left shoulder with the club hanging down over the players’ back. The backswing is a rotation to the right, consisting of a shifting of the player’s body weight to the right side, a turning of the pelvis and shoulders, lifting of the arms and flexing of the elbows and wrists.
Many golfers who are strongly left-handed in their daily life prefer the right-handed golf swing. Try not to grip the club too tightly. Swing slowly and steadily using a nice rhythm. Use the basic ‘hitchhiker’ position when you’re working on your backswing. The most important thing about the golf swing is the angle and not the strength that’s applied to it.
Golf workouts will change your game forever. Conditioning your golf muscles will reward you with straighter swings. It’s no secret; most of the professional players actively participate in workouts.
If you’re a golfing novice just starting out, it’s easy to become overwhelmed. In any case, stick to just one golf swing aid at a time; don’t load up on them. Golf aids are often for sale at your pro shop or local golf shop.
Keep in mind that with some aids, you may still need advice or help from an expert. There are a number of good golf swing aids on the market today. Sporting goods stores have aids to improve your game.
Golf swing aids can be found online and are often cheaper. Aids come in all shapes and sizes including apparel type accessories to correct alignment or a golf club add-on accessory to monitor your swing. Look for golf swing aids at your local golf course.
There are aids that will help you with swing alignment. Ask an expert, who is not associated with the shop you would buy your golf swing aid from, for advice on the right aid for you.
If you apply both physical and mental workouts, golf swing improvement will be your reward. When you play a round of golf, concentrate on improving your golf swing, putting or something specific that day; have a plan in mind. Invest in a few of the newest golf books and golf ebooks; older golf books may be outdated.

To Play Better Golf – Putting Consistently Will Help

Do you get excited at the thought of putting? Does it give you a high to go to the range it spend an hour on your putting? I ask these questions leading into the idea that your putting could be costing you several strokes every round.
Now picture this scenario. How many times have you gotten to the green in regulation only to “three-jack” your putts and walk off with bogey or worse? I have done it more times than I want to think, and it is humiliating to say the least!
Golf putting seems so basic and easy and yet to make 50% of your 8 foot putts is very difficult. I have always looked at putting practice as boring, so I never use to do it. Big mistake that was! The more I ignored my putting, the more strokes I was leaving on the greens from every round I played.
I can’t tell you how many times a I killed a long drive down the middle, got to the green in regulation, and 3-putted more holes than I can count. Not a pretty picture, and one that is the brunt of all the jokes after the round.
Does this sound familiar? Do you have putting woes that jack up your scores beyond where they should be? If so, keep reading as I want to burn in your brain the importance of golf putting and practice.
Practicing your putting doesn’t have to be boring. In fact there are many excellent golf putting aids that can keep you focused and really get you dialed in on your putting. I have taken my putting aid to the practice green and spent over an hour there. That’s unheard of for me! I have to laugh now.
These putting aids are very effective at helping you groove a perfect putting stroke that will hold up for 18 holes. In fact, after taking my putting more seriously, I dropped 5 strokes of my score and I was already a 9 handicap!
Now you’ve got to do some research at your local golf store to find the putting aid that will work for you. Hopefully you can even try one out before you buy it. Doing this gives you an idea of how effective it will be and if you will stick with it.
Some of these aids may seem hokey! Don’t take those seriously. Look at the ones that will directly help your putting stroke and tempo. Thank goodness there are not as many golf putting aids as there are clubs!
The bottom line to lowering your scores is to practice your putting! Putting is over 40% of your score…don’t ignore it!

Golf Fitness Videos- Save Time And Improve Your Game

Using a golf fitness video is a great alternative to going to a gym. Just think of the time you’re saving not worrying about what you where or how you look or driving 20 to 30 minutes to your local gym and then showering, changing and getting back home.
Golfers are realizing that a golf fitness video is a great shortcut to a better game, quickly. The great thing is you don’t have to be young or fit to do it. I have golfers who are in their 70′s doing my fitness videos.
When you’re researching fitness videos, there are several things to keep in mind. There should be easy to follow demonstrations of every golf exercise. This is separate from the workout component of the fitness video. You want a menu that is user-friendly and easy to move around to the different sections of the video.
But what you are really paying for is the fitness workout itself. There should be a component of the video that takes you through the entire fitness session, from start to finish. This way it’s like having the trainer right in your home.
I have seen hundreds of fitness videos that do not take you through the entire routine. They are pieced together and leave you trying to figure out what to do with it.
Another important point. Watch out for the ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. This is not what you want. You want to be lead through a routine that is suitable for your current level of fitness, age and abilities.
If your starting point is a little lower, then a fitness dvd that is more challenging will only promote you to fail. I’ve seen this time and time again.
On the other hand, if you are an experienced exerciser, you want a video that is more challenging than a beginner (novice) one. One that will challenge your core stabilization, balance, coordination and muscular endurance.
This may sound like a lot to think about, but making the right choice will dictate the ultimate success of your program. So make sure to thoroughly read over all the information pertaining to that golf fitness video.
Other Handy Golf Tips:
1. Source any natural dietary supplements which will help to keep you fit and healthy and keep your body in good shape to play golf.
2. Develop complete confidence in yourself and your game – need to be tough-minded and totally focused when you play golf.
3. Learn all known golf bets so that you can bet to your advantage and apply psychological pressure on your opponents at opportune moments.

Some Tips To Help You To Choose The Best Golf Shoes For You

There was a time when all you needed to do to buy golf shoes was just walk into a sports shop and pick a pair, that has changed drastically. This change, ironically, is not due to scarcity but abundance of options. You’ll have to take time out to know what is available and what advantages each offers. Once you know the advantages you can then pick what best suits you and fits your style. You can do this by asking those whom you are sure know better. You can also check online reviews especially from users who have no motives of selling anything to you. Their reviews will be quite helpful. Make sure they are built to last and are very comfortable.
Do you rent a cart or walk the golf course? These will affect the type of golf shoes that will be more suitable. If, for example, you walk the course, you’ll certainly require shoes that are very rugged but also very comfortable. After all, you want to play golf not hurt your feet. If, however, you rent a cart, you can afford to go for fancier stuff since they will not be subjected to the same rigors.
There are options of hard spikes and soft spikes. If you prefer the former, you’ll do well to ask for clubs that allow their use on their course. Most don’t allow them. It’s nothing personal, it’s just that they are less turf friendly. They hurt the grass. You’ll therefore do well to go for soft spikes as you’ll spare yourself a lot of rejection. Furthermore, soft spikes are a lot easier to walk with when you are on the cart paths and also in the clubhouse.
Try on as many golf shoes as possible before settling for any. Don’t make your choice based on fanciness. Remember, a round of golf will last a few hours. And then you’ll truly appreciate that comfort is a lot more important than mere looks. Take your time, try them all and go for the most comfortable. Leave great brand names if you find a less popular name that is more comfortable. You’ll be glad you did on those long golf rounds.
Like every serious golfer or fan knows, the game has a lot to do with how you stand. How you stand determines how well you swing. It determines how long you’ll swing and how far and accurately you’ll swing. We can’t stress enough the importance of ensuring your shoes add to your game, not subtract from it. Therefore, don’t be in a hurry to leave the shop. Take your time, try as many shoes as possible. That way you’ll be sure to get what’s most comfortable.

Golf Etiquette – How To Be A Gentleman On A Golf Course

Golf is considered a gentleman’s game and has always been associated with prestige and the elite. As such, there are certain unwritten rules pertaining to the game of golf. Of course these are not hard and fast rules which affect the game directly, but more of good etiquette when playing golf. If you practice good golf etiquette on the greens, it shows that you have respect for the game, as well as the other golfers that you play with.
Having said that, let us take a look at some of the general golfing etiquette that you can put to practice, regardless if you are an amateur or a professional. These will be followed by some rather specific rules that you should be aware of at particular times during a round of golf.
Keeping Quiet
Having respect for other players means that you should be quiet whenever other golfers step up to the ball. This allows the golfer to concentrate on the swing. After all, you would want to demand the same level of respect from the other golfers.
Another thing to remember is to avoid running on the golf course. Even if this doesn’t affect your game or the other golfers in your group, running around the course will distract others from their game.
Practice Playing Safely
When you step up to the ball and just before you take your swing, look around. Check if there is anyone standing in the vicinity of the area where you predict your ball will go to. Never take it for granted that the other golfers will be on the lookout to see if they’re standing in your way.
Similarly, whenever you are practicing your swings, never do it when there are others around. It is very rude to take practice swings in the direction of other golfers.
Also remember, make it a point to never swing your club when someone is walking nearby. And vice versa, never walk around a golfer who is trying to take a swing.
Keep To Your Pace
At any given time, remember that you or your group are not the only golfers on the golf course. Thus, keep in mind that you should at all times try to keep to your pace of play at a comfortable rate. This means that there should be enough time to keep up with your group, but not too much time that you’re holding up other golfers and cutting into their time.
Never hit into the group playing ahead of you. This is considered to be very very rude. If it was done unintentionally, then you should realise that you have failed in observing the common courtesy of golf. Even if the group ahead of you were playing slowly and you had intentionally done so, bear in mind that it is not a reason to commit such a rude act.
Should you need to play through the group ahead of you, have some courtesy by asking for their permission first. However, before asking, do check if the next hole is vacant so that there will be enough space for you to pass through.
If and when permission is granted for you to play through the group ahead of you, make sure you finish the hole in the least amount of time possible, so that you can move onto the next hole immediately after that.
On the Teeing Ground
Do stand out of the golfer’s line of sight as well as his peripheral vision so that he can concentrate fully as he prepares to take his swing. The best way is for you to stand behind the golfer and to remember to keep quiet as you do so.
On the Fairway
Avoid hitting too many divots, though some is acceptable. Moreover, try to put a few of the divots back in place by replacing and stepping on them into the hole.
Also, avoid spending too much time looking around for a golf ball that is lost. The golfers behind you might not enjoy being delayed. Should you lose a ball, and fail to locate it in a few minutes, just replace the golf ball with another.
On the Bunker
Do make use of the rake that is provided to clear off all marks made by you or your golf ball after you have taken your shot. Make sure you rake out all marks and footprints, and then leave the rake outside the bunker with the handle place parallel to the fairway.
On the Green
Do not step on any ball paths of the other golfers as this can affect the putt. What you should do is to walk behind the ball on its direction to the hole. Or you could step over the imaginary line between the ball and the hole.
Take time to repair any marks made by force of the ball which landed on the green. Your courteous ways will reflect your respect to the other golfers as you have left them with an unmarked green to play on.
It is important to place your ball back on the green before you pick up the ball marker. This will erase any doubts on other golfers as to whether or not you have positioned your ball in the proper manner.
On the Practice Grounds
Do remember to continue observing the general etiquette of playing golf as you would do on the golf course.
The rules or golf etiquette above are but a few of the good golfing practices that you can incorporate into your day at the golf course. These are basic common courtesies that are founded on mutual respect for one another’s safety as well as having respect for a game that you love. By practicing these simple ways, you will have a greater and more pleasant golf experience with other golfers.

Tips For Correcting An Ailing Golf Swing

If you’re like most golfers, you want to improve, not just hack around the golf course. When you’re playing golf badly it isn’t a lot of fun. Most golfers don’t know that eighty percent of the world’s golfers have a handicap of 18 or more.
Visualize where you would like the ball to land, as you swing. The positive energy you send out will influence your game, just as negative thinking and therefore negative energy will affect it also. Golf requires tough mental fitness as well as physical fitness and is often overlooked.
Putts and short chips are ideally played without much movement of the body, but most other golf shots are played using variants of the full golf swing. Ask your golf pro to evaluate your posture while swinging. Make sure to use the proper technique.
Use the muscles in your legs and trunk when you swing. The most important thing about the golf swing is the angle and not the strength that’s applied to it. Accomplished golfers purposely use sidespin to steer their ball around obstacles or towards the safe side of fairways and greens.
Pick out a spot on the course, preferably the green of the fairway, and concentrate on hitting the ball to that spot. At the end of a swing, the weight has shifted almost entirely to the left foot, the body is fully turned to the left and the hands are above the left shoulder with the club hanging down over the players’ back. After the ball is hit, the follow-through stage consists of a continued rotation to the left.
At the end of a backswing the hands are above the right shoulder, with the golf club pointing more or less in the intended direction of ball flight. Use the basic ‘hitchhiker’ position when you’re working on your backswing.
Most golfers don’t know there are techniques that will greatly affect swing mechanics; you can get an edge by just changing your approach. Don’t underestimate the value of fitness when it comes to your golf swing and your overall golf game. It’s no secret; most of the professional players actively participate in workouts.
Before buying any golf swing aid, check with an expert to get an idea of what problem you need to work on first; backlift of golf swing, momentum of downward thrust or stance for example. If you’re looking for an aid to improve your stance they’re not hard to find. Aids come in all shapes and sizes including apparel type accessories to correct alignment or a golf club add-on accessory to monitor your swing.
You can find aids that will help you with your wrist and arm position. Golf aids are often for sale at your pro shop or local golf shop. Golf magazines often review the newest golf swing aids and are reviewed by golfers, making it easy to choose the right one for you.
Most of all don’t waste your money on an aid you don’t need or will never use. Sporting goods stores have golf aids to improve your game. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or you’re just starting out, pick just one aid and go to work on your swing.
Look for golf swing aids at your local golf course. If you’re a golfing novice just starting out, it’s easy to become overwhelmed.
If you’ve hit with your golf driver perfectly once, you can do it every time. Get some golf DVDs and commit yourself to a time to practice what you learn. Pick out something every week to concentrate on and help you improve your golf swing and golf game.

Learning Good Golf Swing Mechanics

We all want to have more power in our golf swing. Want to see that ball go sailing off the tee straight down the fairway a couple of hundred yards. Now of course we’ve all also seen someone consistently do that at a course on Sunday afternoon, so effortlessly, just like the club was slicing through butter. What do these people with the perfect golf swing and a perfect drive every time have that we don’t have. Is it speed, strength, or a better driver? Chances are none of the above, what they have mastered is their golf swing mechanics.
Of course a better driver made of the latest and greatest material will help add a few yards to your drive, also having strength in the right muscles will help out. How ever all of these things aren’t worth a dime if you’re not using them correctly. And to use them correctly you need to have the right swing mechanics down. Until you understand exactly what happens when you swing a golf club, how the weight is transferred and how mechanics come into play rather then brute force and strength you’ll continue to either duff the ball or be plagued by that evil hook or slice.
So is this to say that you should just purchase an inexpensive club, and any out of shape bum can learn to drive a winning ball? No not at all, your equipment and physical fitness level are very important, how ever you need to learn to use it right. A bad swing will only produce one thing, bad results. Whether it’s a good club or a bad club, or your strong or weak.
If you’re over the top with your golf swing, or to far on the inside it will come out in the direction of the ball. Being able to correct this error through your swing mechanics is when you’ve really learned to master the controllable par of this crazy game.
Working consistently to tweak your swing through mechanics is how you’ll slowly but surely shave those strokes off of your handicap. The key is know the right way to do it in the first place so you have a base to work from. It is a lot more difficult for us to unlearn bad habits in our swing sequence then it is to take the time to learn the correct movements and technique the first time around. Remember bad habits are difficult to break, and this is no different in golf then it is in any other area of life.
Take advantage of Golf Instruction
One big let down with amateur golfers is that they get discouraged when they don’t see improvement after practicing and practicing at the driving range. All they’re learning to do is slice that ball further and further rather then discovering how to correct it and drive it straighter and straighter. This can all be corrected by introducing the correct instruction to your practicing regime. Whether it’s a quality instructional video or book, or you register for lessons from the local pro you need a solid foundation to understand why a golf ball will tend to slice or hook. Or where the correction can be made in your swing to stop topping the ball. Without proper instruction you can’t fully understand correct golf swing mechanics, and will continue to be frustrated.

What is in a Golf Ball?

In the chemistry of air pressure, turbulence, and aerodynamics, surface structures are vital physical element. History has it that there are things that seem to be peculiar on their make-up hundreds of years ago which eventually came up with a better composition based on scientific research. And a golf ball is the best paradigm of this theoretical stand in history.

During the earliest days of golf on the eastern coast of Scotland, most players used ancient apparatus in order to play the game in a more disorganized and informal way. Here, the first clubs and golf balls are made up of wood.

It was on 1618 that the feather golf ball was finally introduced. This was commonly known as the “Featherie”. This feather golf ball was a handcrafted ball made with goose feathers securely pressed into a horse or cowhide sphere. This is being done while the ball is still wet. After drying, the leather shrank and the feathers expanded creating a hardened ball.

But because these kinds of golf balls are specially handcrafted, they usually cost higher than the clubs. In doing so, only a few privileged people could afford to play golf during those times.

Next came the Guttie golf ball. This prehistoric kind of golf ball was made from the rubber like sap of the Gutta tree that can be found in the tropics. Normally, these Guttie balls can be easily shaped into a sphere when hot and eventually used as a golf ball. With its rubber nature, guttie balls can be cheaply reproduced and can be easily repaired by reheating and reshaping.

However, between the two earliest forms of golf balls, the feather golf ball was said to travel farther than the gutties. This is due to the smooth surface of the gutties that limits the capacity of the golf ball to cover more distance.

With this new scientific analysis, the developers of golf ball finally came up with balls with the “dimples” that are predominant in modern golf balls nowadays.

Dimples are crafted into golf balls so as to reduce the aerodynamic drag, which will be acting on the ball if it were totally smooth. This is because smooth balls, when sailing through the air, leave a huge pocket of low-pressure air in its stir therefore creating a drag. With the application of drag, the ball slows down.

Hence, by having dimples on golf balls, the pressure differential goes down and the drag force is reduced. These dimples create turbulence in the air surrounding the golf ball. This, in turn, forces the air to clasp the golf ball more closely. By doing so, the air trails the warp created by the ball towards the back instead of flowing past it. This results to a smaller wake and lesser drag.

Dimples also help players to put backspin on a shot making the golf ball break off on the putting green.

The idea of putting dimples on golf balls can be traced back during the gutta percha phase. Coburn Haskell introduced the one-piece rubber cored ball encased in a gutta percha sphere. It was during this time when the players observed how their shots become more and more predictable as their balls turned rough from play.

When William Taylor applied the dimple pattern to a Haskell ball in 1905, golf balls finally took their modern form.

From then on, dimpled golf balls were officially used in every golf tournament. In 1921, the golf balls took its form with standard size and weight.

Today, there is an abundant selection of golf balls to fit different golf game and condition. There are golf balls that offer control, while some offer distance. In whatever ways golf balls vary, only one thing is common and known. Golf balls are not just elements of the sports arena; they are more than ever paradigm of a concept in physics.

Easy Distance Off The Tee

How can I generate more distance off the tee? Recreational players, it seems, are always looking for golf tips on how to generate more distance off the tee. While proper technique is the true secret to generating distance off the tee, other isolated factors also affect distance. Taking advantage of these factors, as I urge players who take my golf lessons, is an easy way to get more distance without swinging harder or faster.
Loft is one of those isolated factors. Unfortunately, some players who take my golf lessons or read my golf tips don’t truly understand the significance of loft. Some players also have a psychological barrier against loft, which is natural given what happens on the course when you hit a tee shot.
Conventional Wisdom versus Reality
Reality in golf is always what it seems. Conventional wisdom suggests that higher-lofted drivers produce shots that fly high and stop dead when they land. Lower-lofted drivers produce shots that fly low but run more when they land, generating more distance off the tee. That theory makes sense, or so it would seem.
The key to maximizing power at any swing speed, however, is launching the ball on the proper trajectory with the right amount of spin to take advantage of the golf ball’s aerodynamic properties. That launch angle is generally 10 to 15 degrees of loft (slower swingers can get more distance with a higher loft angle). Ideal spin varies, but it’s about 2000 to 3000 revolutions per minute, again a little higher with slower swing speeds.
Loft, it would seem, is a key factor when hitting a driver. In fact, adding loft is the single most important thing I’ve found in my years of providing golf instruction that helps people hit their drivers better. For some golfers adding loft to their drivers—without making any other adjustments—generates an average of at least 10 yards to their drives. For others, it generates even more.
Determining the Right Loft
So how do you determine what loft is right for you? Pick a driver that gives you as high a trajectory as you can get without sacrificing accuracy. When you feel you’re uncomfortably high, take the loft one step down to see if you still are consistently long most of the time. When in doubt, take more loft rather than less.
Once you’ve determined the right loft, try the following tips for generating more distance of the tee. They’ll help you hit the ball farther without changing your swing speed or adding more muscle power.
1. Widen stance at address for greater stability

2. Shift more weight on right side (for a right-hander)

3. Turn our your left foot slightly

4. Take a full 90-degree turn.

5. Hover club head above ground

6. Hit hard with right hand through impact

7. Sense right forearm crossing over left

8. Finish high with your swing
Some of these tips focus on changes in your address position. Hovering the club head above the ground is a technique both Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus use. It takes a little practice to learn how to do it, but it produces dividends when executed correctly. And finishing correctly is a must on every swing. When combined with the right loft, these tips will add more distance to your drives.
Two Drills for Generating More Distance
Two proven drills for increasing driving distance are the lead hand drill and the weighted-club drill. I often suggest them to players who take my golf lessons or in written golf tips in my newsletter.
1. The lead hand drill strengthens the “pulling” muscles of your left arm. (Right fore- arm for left-handers.) With this drill, practice hitting a golf ball with just your left hand. Start with a pitching wedge. Try it without a ball first. Swing easily. When you’re ready, tee the ball up and swing away. Take about 25 swings. When you can hit the ball off the tee consistently, drop down to an 8 iron. Repeat the process.
2. The weighted-club drill stretches the back muscles, leading to a fuller turn. Use a heavyweight practice club, a practice “donut,” or a weighted cover for your club. Take about 50 practice swings a day. Swing easily and smoothly. After a month or two, you will find the arc of your swing is larger than before, without losing control of the swing.
Adding more loft to your driver won’t make you a Jack Nicklaus or Greg Norman over night; but it will improve your game without involving hours and hours of practice. More importantly, adding loft will help you hit the kinds of drives that can help lower your golf handicap.

How To Find The Perfect Golf Birthday Gift

It is likely that we all have at least one obsessed golfer in our lives. For them golf is more than a hobby, it is an all consuming passion. When their birthday rolls around each year we naturally want to get them a golf related gift, but finding the perfect golf birthday gift can be a daunting task. Where do you turn to find the perfect golf birthday gift for the golfer who has everything?
Golfers are known to be pack rats who already have a garage full of clubs, balls, and all the newest gadgets. Fortunately, the golf market is always ripe with new products that might just be the perfect golf birthday gift! In your quest to find the perfect golf birthday gift, you might first want to talk to the people who know your golfer the best; their golf buddies. Golf buddies know more about your golfer’s game than anyone, and they surely know what gadgets and clubs they already have and what they would like to have. Some sage advice from friends could be the quickest way to find the perfect golf birthday gift.
If advice from golf buddies is hard to find, another way to find the perfect golf birthday gift is to go to your local pro shop. Pro shops are often free standing stores, but they are also located in the clubhouse of most golf clubs. On staff at any pro shop is a golf professional who is trained in helping golfers improve their games not only through lessons, but through proper equipment as well. Their expert advice can help anyone find the perfect golf birthday gift. Help the pro help you by telling them as much as you can about the golfer in your life. From the types of clubs they own, to the range of scores they shoot, all of this information can help the professional determine what would be the perfect golf birthday gift. Who knows, maybe the perfect golf birthday gift would be a gift certificate for golf lessons from the professional at the shop? No matter what you decide, expert advice can always help when you are looking for the perfect golf birthday gift.
Pro shops are a great option that provides expert service, but they often are lacking in selection and they can be expensive as well. When looking for the perfect golf birthday gift you might prefer the wider selection and lower prices that can be found at the large golf or sporting goods retailers. While the salespeople at these stores might not be golf professionals, they are usually avid golfers who can draw on their experiences in helping you find the perfect golf birthday gift. In addition to clubs and balls, these stores often have a wide selection of clothes and apparel that might make the perfect golf birthday gift.
If you still can not find the perfect golf birthday gift, then maybe the best choice would be a gift certificate to any of the shops and stores that you have visited. Or better yet, the perfect golf birthday gift might just be a gift certificate to play a round at a golf course that your golfer loves to play, or has never played! No matter what you decide, just know that the perfect golf birthday gift is out there, even if you are buying for a very well stocked golfer.
