Golf Flexibility Exercise For Lower Back

A golf flexibility exercise that can release the tension in your lower back can be the silver bullet you’ve been looking for to improve your golf swing and finally get rid of that nagging back pain!
In fact there is no single genuine golf exercise program that does not include flexibility exercises. That is how critical flexibility training for golf is.
Flexibility programs for golf are becoming very popular, but there are many that do not effectively improve golfers’ golf swing and performance. There is a reason this occurs. If flexibility exercises are not are not specific to the golf swing and its physical requirements, they will not be effective in improving golf swing flexibility and range of motion.
There are many types of flexibility exercises for golf. Some of them can comfortably be done in the office while you are still seated on your chair in your workstation. And probably when you have a few minutes to spare or you need to spend a moment or two thinking about something, maybe a decision you have to make. You can easily do your thinking as you execute the simple golf flexibility exercise.
One of the exercises that can be done in this situation is twisting your upper body to reach and touch as far back on one side of the chair as you can. I do this one in my office when I want to take a break from the grind of running my golf training website and shipping products.
Instructions:
Sit upright in your office chair, with chest high and back straight.
Reach behind you with one arm, which will rotate your upper body.
While staying very erect, twist as far as you can go and hold.
Twist the other way and repeat.
Go both sides 2-3 times, holding for 10 seconds.
Benefits to the golf swing:
Increase rotation of trunk for an improve “x-factor”.
Loosen up lower back, to reduce strain and tightness, freeing up golf swing.
Improve ability to rotate upper body over a “fixed” lower body, like in your swing.
This golf flexibility exercise should be repeated reaching out for the other side of your chair.
There are also golf flexibility exercise that can be done with tubing, and a stability ball. Others are done using a medicine ball. Most of them are described in other golf exercise articles I have written on my site.
The reason why a flexibility exercise program for golf is so effective in improving the golf swing and eliminating back pain is because they put your body in the exact same positions either rotationally or from a golf posture standpoint that stretch the muscles like no other stretch or general exercise program could do.
This will remove the tension in your swing due to restricted muscles, and enable your golf swing to feel more comfortable and free-flowing, allowing maximum clubhead speed and ultimately distance. The results will be quick and dramatic!
There are dozens and dozens of effective golf flexibility exercise for golf that will have a profound impact on your golf swing, game and body. There is no denying golf is a physical game, and you need to work on your “machine” to maximize your results.

Learn How To Play With Golf Lessons

So you’ve hit a few balls and you are thinking of taking up golf. Or maybe you’ve been playing for years and you would like to find a way to improve. Whether you are a seasoned Tour pro, a raw beginner, or anyone in between, at some point you will likely wonder if you should invest in some golf lessons.
Golf is a complex game where so many elements of the golf swing are interconnected. One minute aspect of your swing can impact the results dramatically. Because we can not see ourselves in action, we have to rely on others to view our swings and give us feedback, yet so many of us are willing to entrust that responsibility to our friends and playing partners, most of whom are completely unqualified to offer such advice. Instead of professional feedback that we would receive during golf lessons, we are told the famous golf axioms; “keep your head still,” “keep your arm straight,” so on, and so forth.
Golf lessons from a qualified professional are likely to help any golfer improve on their game. There are different kinds of golf lessons that are sure to fit any golfers schedule, budget, or needs. Beginners might opt for group golf lessons at a local golf course. Group golf lessons are less expensive and focus on the most basic fundamentals of the golf swing, such as grip, stance, and posture. More advanced golfers are likely to benefit more from a one-on-one golf lesson with the professional .Their trained eye can not only help diagnose any problems you have with your swing, but they can also supply you with specific practice drills that you can work on after your golf lesson.
Today’s golf lessons are often more than just a teacher watching a pupil hit golf balls. Modern video equipment, and computer programs designed specifically for analyzing the golf swing, can be used to examine your swing in super slow motion so that the smallest faults can be identified and resolved.
Another advantage to golf lessons is that the professional can analyze the clubs you are using and help you decide if they are proper for your game. With the hundreds of brands of golf clubs on the market it is hard to know if your equipment is ideal for your game. Today’s professional has the resources to analyze your game from top to bottom during your golf lesson, your clubs included. That kind of expertise and feedback will make golf lessons beneficial for anyone, no matter what their ability.

Free Golf Tips – Beware of Bad Advice

If you have decided to take up golf, you are probably in search of free golf tips. Good news! You’ve found them! These free golf tips are designed with every golfer in mind, and they are beneficial to anyone who reads them.
The first tip is to beware of tips! That’s right. Many well meaning golfers will offer you a great deal of advice. What many people fail to realize is that what works for one golfer probably won’t work for others. These tips, however, are for all golfers.
Enjoy the game. Getting mad isn’t much fun. If you aren’t enjoying the game, you need to find out why, and fix the problem. Getting upset over bad swings or problem areas won’t fix anything, and it will only serve to take all of the fun out of the game. This is a game that tests your skill and technique – but it is still a game, and games are meant to be enjoyed!
Be a great sport – even if you aren’t great at golf. Be respectful to the other players. Be still and quiet when they are taking their shots. Don’t criticize or make fun of the way they stand, shoot, or grip the club….no matter how good you think your own game is. Good sportsmanship is everything, and without it, you won’t have any golfing companions in a very short period of time.
Golf responsibly. Do not litter the course. If the grass is loosened and turned when you shoot, use your foot to replace it. Wait your turn if you come upon a group at the next tee – don’t rush them. Use caution when driving golf carts, and use caution again when you take your shots to avoid hitting houses, buildings, animals, or other golfers. Leave the course better than you found it.
When you practice, practice at the hardest holes on the course…don’t take the easy way out, practicing only on the easy holes, thinking you are making headway – you aren’t. Practice on the hardest tees, and the hardest putts. Put yourself in the traps, and practice getting out of them. Imagine worst case scenarios and set them up. This is what will make you a better golfer.
Play miniature golf, and take it more seriously – but still have fun. Playing miniature golf is a great way to improve your putting skills. Many seasoned golfers laugh at this suggestion – but its true! Good miniature golf courses provide really challenging obstacles that you must put through, under, around and over….some even offer more challenges than you will ever find on your local golf course greens!
Keep your eyes open for used training aids. If they are reasonably priced – buy them! Not all training aids will help you, but unfortunately, you won’t know which ones will unless you try them out first. Get together with golfing friends and go in together to buy golfing aids that you can share. The aids that are available on the market today will help you improve your game a great deal, in a short amount of time.
Read a lot – and play even more. There are lots of techniques that you can learn from golfing websites, golf books, and golf magazines – but you will learn them faster out on the course! Read it once, and then go try it. If you need to, print it out and carry it with you – but go put the theory into practice – and practice, practice, practice! You can learn the concept sitting in your living room, but you will never make that concept work for you if you don’t take it out onto the course with you!
If you can’t get on the course, and you have some spare time and enough room, practice your swing. You don’t need a ball for this. Consider using a training club during these times to help build strength as well. If you take the time to practice your swing several times a day, you will find that you have a perfect swing for you in short order! If your golf game gets rained out – use the time to practice your swing, or practice your putting indoors…but don’t let that time go to waste! The best free golf tips you will ever receive will all include the word ‘practice!’

Improve Your Golf Swing The Easy Way

Most golfers aren’t aware of the fact that eighty percent of the world’s golfers have a handicap of 18 or more. Finding ways to improve your golf game, then applying what you’ve learned and practicing diligently, is the best way to get ahead of the game. Did you know the average golfer’s gross score is 107 shots?
Don’t worry about what others think or may say about your swing; work to improve it at your own speed. A common mental error golfers make when driving the ball is to hit it as hard as possible. Approach the game with a positive attitude and repeat affirmations if you can, such as “I play great golf all the time.”
It’s difficult for a golfer to practice hitting shots longer than short pitch shots unless one pays to play golf or pays to practice at a driving range or indoor golf training facility. Putts and short chips are ideally played without much movement of the body, but most other golf shots are played using variants of the full golf swing. Sidespin occurs when the clubface is not aligned perpendicularly to the plane of swing.
Trust your golf club to do the job it was intended to do. At the end of a swing, the weight has shifted almost entirely to the left foot, the body is fully turned to the left and the hands are above the left shoulder with the club hanging down over the players’ back. The backswing is a rotation to the right, consisting of a shifting of the player’s body weight to the right side, a turning of the pelvis and shoulders, lifting of the arms and flexing of the elbows and wrists.
Many golfers who are strongly left-handed in their daily life prefer the right-handed golf swing. Try not to grip the club too tightly. Swing slowly and steadily using a nice rhythm. Use the basic ‘hitchhiker’ position when you’re working on your backswing. The most important thing about the golf swing is the angle and not the strength that’s applied to it.
Golf workouts will change your game forever. Conditioning your golf muscles will reward you with straighter swings. It’s no secret; most of the professional players actively participate in workouts.
If you’re a golfing novice just starting out, it’s easy to become overwhelmed. In any case, stick to just one golf swing aid at a time; don’t load up on them. Golf aids are often for sale at your pro shop or local golf shop.
Keep in mind that with some aids, you may still need advice or help from an expert. There are a number of good golf swing aids on the market today. Sporting goods stores have aids to improve your game.
Golf swing aids can be found online and are often cheaper. Aids come in all shapes and sizes including apparel type accessories to correct alignment or a golf club add-on accessory to monitor your swing. Look for golf swing aids at your local golf course.
There are aids that will help you with swing alignment. Ask an expert, who is not associated with the shop you would buy your golf swing aid from, for advice on the right aid for you.
If you apply both physical and mental workouts, golf swing improvement will be your reward. When you play a round of golf, concentrate on improving your golf swing, putting or something specific that day; have a plan in mind. Invest in a few of the newest golf books and golf ebooks; older golf books may be outdated.

To Play Better Golf – Putting Consistently Will Help

Do you get excited at the thought of putting? Does it give you a high to go to the range it spend an hour on your putting? I ask these questions leading into the idea that your putting could be costing you several strokes every round.
Now picture this scenario. How many times have you gotten to the green in regulation only to “three-jack” your putts and walk off with bogey or worse? I have done it more times than I want to think, and it is humiliating to say the least!
Golf putting seems so basic and easy and yet to make 50% of your 8 foot putts is very difficult. I have always looked at putting practice as boring, so I never use to do it. Big mistake that was! The more I ignored my putting, the more strokes I was leaving on the greens from every round I played.
I can’t tell you how many times a I killed a long drive down the middle, got to the green in regulation, and 3-putted more holes than I can count. Not a pretty picture, and one that is the brunt of all the jokes after the round.
Does this sound familiar? Do you have putting woes that jack up your scores beyond where they should be? If so, keep reading as I want to burn in your brain the importance of golf putting and practice.
Practicing your putting doesn’t have to be boring. In fact there are many excellent golf putting aids that can keep you focused and really get you dialed in on your putting. I have taken my putting aid to the practice green and spent over an hour there. That’s unheard of for me! I have to laugh now.
These putting aids are very effective at helping you groove a perfect putting stroke that will hold up for 18 holes. In fact, after taking my putting more seriously, I dropped 5 strokes of my score and I was already a 9 handicap!
Now you’ve got to do some research at your local golf store to find the putting aid that will work for you. Hopefully you can even try one out before you buy it. Doing this gives you an idea of how effective it will be and if you will stick with it.
Some of these aids may seem hokey! Don’t take those seriously. Look at the ones that will directly help your putting stroke and tempo. Thank goodness there are not as many golf putting aids as there are clubs!
The bottom line to lowering your scores is to practice your putting! Putting is over 40% of your score…don’t ignore it!

Golf Fitness Videos- Save Time And Improve Your Game

Using a golf fitness video is a great alternative to going to a gym. Just think of the time you’re saving not worrying about what you where or how you look or driving 20 to 30 minutes to your local gym and then showering, changing and getting back home.
Golfers are realizing that a golf fitness video is a great shortcut to a better game, quickly. The great thing is you don’t have to be young or fit to do it. I have golfers who are in their 70′s doing my fitness videos.
When you’re researching fitness videos, there are several things to keep in mind. There should be easy to follow demonstrations of every golf exercise. This is separate from the workout component of the fitness video. You want a menu that is user-friendly and easy to move around to the different sections of the video.
But what you are really paying for is the fitness workout itself. There should be a component of the video that takes you through the entire fitness session, from start to finish. This way it’s like having the trainer right in your home.
I have seen hundreds of fitness videos that do not take you through the entire routine. They are pieced together and leave you trying to figure out what to do with it.
Another important point. Watch out for the ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. This is not what you want. You want to be lead through a routine that is suitable for your current level of fitness, age and abilities.
If your starting point is a little lower, then a fitness dvd that is more challenging will only promote you to fail. I’ve seen this time and time again.
On the other hand, if you are an experienced exerciser, you want a video that is more challenging than a beginner (novice) one. One that will challenge your core stabilization, balance, coordination and muscular endurance.
This may sound like a lot to think about, but making the right choice will dictate the ultimate success of your program. So make sure to thoroughly read over all the information pertaining to that golf fitness video.
Other Handy Golf Tips:
1. Source any natural dietary supplements which will help to keep you fit and healthy and keep your body in good shape to play golf.
2. Develop complete confidence in yourself and your game – need to be tough-minded and totally focused when you play golf.
3. Learn all known golf bets so that you can bet to your advantage and apply psychological pressure on your opponents at opportune moments.

Some Tips To Help You To Choose The Best Golf Shoes For You

There was a time when all you needed to do to buy golf shoes was just walk into a sports shop and pick a pair, that has changed drastically. This change, ironically, is not due to scarcity but abundance of options. You’ll have to take time out to know what is available and what advantages each offers. Once you know the advantages you can then pick what best suits you and fits your style. You can do this by asking those whom you are sure know better. You can also check online reviews especially from users who have no motives of selling anything to you. Their reviews will be quite helpful. Make sure they are built to last and are very comfortable.
Do you rent a cart or walk the golf course? These will affect the type of golf shoes that will be more suitable. If, for example, you walk the course, you’ll certainly require shoes that are very rugged but also very comfortable. After all, you want to play golf not hurt your feet. If, however, you rent a cart, you can afford to go for fancier stuff since they will not be subjected to the same rigors.
There are options of hard spikes and soft spikes. If you prefer the former, you’ll do well to ask for clubs that allow their use on their course. Most don’t allow them. It’s nothing personal, it’s just that they are less turf friendly. They hurt the grass. You’ll therefore do well to go for soft spikes as you’ll spare yourself a lot of rejection. Furthermore, soft spikes are a lot easier to walk with when you are on the cart paths and also in the clubhouse.
Try on as many golf shoes as possible before settling for any. Don’t make your choice based on fanciness. Remember, a round of golf will last a few hours. And then you’ll truly appreciate that comfort is a lot more important than mere looks. Take your time, try them all and go for the most comfortable. Leave great brand names if you find a less popular name that is more comfortable. You’ll be glad you did on those long golf rounds.
Like every serious golfer or fan knows, the game has a lot to do with how you stand. How you stand determines how well you swing. It determines how long you’ll swing and how far and accurately you’ll swing. We can’t stress enough the importance of ensuring your shoes add to your game, not subtract from it. Therefore, don’t be in a hurry to leave the shop. Take your time, try as many shoes as possible. That way you’ll be sure to get what’s most comfortable.
